What a horrible mess. We are all excited, Get our hotel that I booked online, looks okay, but on the opposite side of the ocean, THE farthest hotel away from the beach...and they tell me they already charged me because they had me checking in the night before (ugh) but they charged me an extra $20 to find me a new room, fine. Though annoyed. I was clear on the phone! We get to our new room, through this dark hall, outside, down another hallway, past a row of short term apartments I think...and then, way in the back, we go in and it, too, is an apartment, with old saggy furniture that is torn and falling apart. the TV (not that we planned on using it) was like the old TV in our house, an old monster of one....the kitchen was scary, the bathroom was this very, VERY narrow weird add on that I was not going to shower in, the bedroom was old, the bed saggy (very). The whole thing smelled old, ugh. And new paint to try to cover the old. I would NOT have been comfortable going in and out of there like we ended up doing, so we just left and got a room at the Ramada where we knew would be nice. AND....to top it all off. The room was LESS, with a FULL ocean view, and a kitchen, etc...with the military discount. From now on, that is where I am going. I need to do more research. That was awful. And wasteful. Very. Anyway, this is our view from our bed.
Since we already wasted money on the hotel, we walked to the store and got food for all our meals so we didn't have to go out.
Aim did a little work while I lounged on the bed with the window open listening to the ocean.

Had a Keurig which Aim liked, and went down and got several more coffee's! A wonderful place to stay at Ocean Shores!

What hotel was the first one? Did you get your money back for the nights you didn't stay?
No. They had our check in date as a day earlier, so they had already charged us and I barely (should have followed my gut and just left it at that and saved the $20) got them to find us another room. It wasn't going to happen and I wanted to make sure we had somewhere to stay with the nice days coming up, so we just left. And, then yesterday, I got a groupon for that very same place!!!! Ha! Ha! $94 for 2 nights! No thanks!
