Sept 18 vs. Chimcacum

We walked across the ferry to watch J play Chimacum at Port Townsend.  I just love Port Townsend and I want to take the time to walk through it one day.  I had my big huge suitcase bringing back my summer clothes that I packed for the island and no longer need so I wasn't about to drag that through the stores.  But, it is on my list.  There were many street muscians playing and it was a pretty nice day.  No rain anyway.  It is so convenient to walk on the ferry and just walk to the field.  We play Port Townsend there next week.

J had a really good game.  He got the opportunity to play offense as well as defense and special teams.  He didn't come off the field much.  He had some good plays, had a 28 yard reception SO close to the end zone, but they ran out of time.  He got credit for 2 sacks.  He was sore, but in good spirits.

Walking through town

I met Aim in town during the football pre game dinner and we did a quick loop of town.  Never tire of this view either.

Bluff Trail

I never ever get tired of walking this bluff trail.  It was a nice day and after kayaking we decided to take the dogs out for a quick walk.  They were overheated very quickly and it was a very slow walk instead.  But....can't beat the views!

The dogs (Rufus especially) doesn't like the plants touching his ears and in some part of the trail, especially from the bluff in for a bit, it is overgrown (to discourage people from coming in) so they were carried.  And...Lulu was being her crazy self and was so out of breath and hot from pulling and acting a fool, she was carried too.

Kayaking around the wharf

Aim and I went kayaking on a gorgeous, calm, hot day.

The view of Mt. Baker behind the wharf was so pretty!

We had friends following us and keeping a watchful eye from the water

Dinner with friends

We walked across the ferry and had dinner with Thomas and Wendy.  Yummy fish and chips at Ivar's, so easy to just walk across to!  Had a really good time and thankful we got to spend some time with them and catch up.

Sept 4 Wolf vs. South Whidbey

J's first football game since his freshman year at Kentwood.  I don't know why I like football.  I shouldn't.  Too violent.  I love watching the kids play.  It appears that J is having fun and getting to know the guys.  It's just a little weird too as it is so different from KW and the traditions that we are used to (and that I like)  Jordan plays mostly defense and special teams. He is second string offense.

In this game, he picked up a fumble and ran it back for a touchdown, but it was brought back because of a  flag.  Darn it.  But it boosted J up a little and he was really having fun then!

Even made the paper!

Anth is 22

I thought I had already posted about Anth's birthday celebration.  Sucks when you get to be 22 and it no one cares anymore...we care though!  He is a Swedish fish lover and Auntie Chris made him a really cute Swedish fish cake.

 J being all serious.

  A little better...I tell ya...the trials...

At home on his actual birthday I used crepe paper to block him in his room.  All quiet like so I didn't get caught.  He was too groggy to really say much about it.

Not sure the deal with the sideways pictures....It appears that it should be the right direction.  Anyhoo.  I made him a big heart shaped chocolate chip cookie for his birthday.

First day pep assembly

The football players and cheerleaders lined the hall of the gym to welcome everyone to the pep assembly.  Welcoming the athletic director in.

Football players did a little partner stunting.

And some fancy moves

BIG cookie

As per our tradition, I made Jordan his big cookie for after school snack.  Had to go to Auntie Chris's house to use her oven since our power was out, but...we persevered and came through with said cookie....which was promptly devoured.

Old stomping grounds

I am so glad that Jordan is getting the opportunity to graduate from a smaller school, where he feels a little more a part of it.  He is having a great time.  He likes his classes, so far has kept up in everything.  Decided to play football, which he is also liking so all things considered, he is doing awesome!  I am proud of him for being brave enough to leave what he has always known, and try something new this late in the game.  Turns out, he knew what he was doing!

The school has changed so much since we were in school!

 The big gym

Grocery store across the street that we have always known as PC (Prairie Center) that the kids go to for drinks/snacks.

THE Rock

Sept 11 vs. Sequim

Mom and dad came wit me to Sequim to watch the game.  So thankful for company on long away games like that.  We got there in plenty of time so we drove and tried to find the troll farm they had walked by before.  We finally found it.  It was a gorgeous day for a drive!

The fence posts at the farm are carved with trolls.  Super fun!

Stopped and used the bathroom at the reservation, such pretty art all around.

Got to the game after we went to see Marci at DQ where she works in Sequim.  It was nice to see her for a few minutes.  Got to the game (after a little snafu on what time it actually started) so we were a little late (sitting in the parking lot killing time) learned not to go by the paper schedules...anyway...the sun was shining directly into our eyes, it was terrible, not only that, but they had this huge blow up Wolf for the team to run through and it completely blocked our view of the scoreboard!  Super annoying.  We got slaughtered, but...that's what happens when 1A plays 2A.  They had HUGE kids lining up across from Jordan.  one of them being 270 and one of them being 300 according to their program.

First day of SENIOR year!!!

A big windstorm came trough and we lost power for 4 days, which was also out for the first day of Jordan's senior year, at a new school!  I was so thankful it didn't phase him, not having power for days....I can't even imagine what I would have been like, not being able to get ready for my first day, much less my senior year, at a new school.....
